• Leading technical initiatives that shape the architecture and direction of our payments product/platform
• Designing complex distributed systems that handle high-volume payment transactions with reliability and low latency
• Mentoring and growing engineers at all levels through technical leadership, architecture reviews, and establishing engineering excellence
• Driving architectural decisions that balance scalability, maintainability, security, and business requirements
• Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, product, compliance, and business teams to define technical roadmaps
• Establishing engineering culture by championing best practices in TDD, code quality, AI-assisted development, and modern software methodologies

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with significant contributions to large-scale production systems
• Expert-level Java/JVM proficiency with deep knowledge of concurrency, JVM tuning, memory profiling, and performance optimization
• Extensive microservices architecture experience including designing, building, and operating distributed systems at scale
• Advanced full-stack capabilities with mastery of React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architectures
• Deep expertise in Test-Driven Development with ability to architect comprehensive testing strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests
• Proven track record of technical leadership including mentoring engineers, leading architectural initiatives, and driving technical decisions
• Strong system design skills with experience designing for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability
• Expert knowledge of Spring ecosystem and ability to select appropriate tools for different problem domains
• Deep understanding of database design including partitioning strategies, replication, consistency models, and performance tuning
• Production operations experience including debugging complex issues, performance optimization, and incident response
• Mastery of API design including RESTful principles, versioning strategies, and backward compatibility
• Strong knowledge of frontend testing with TDD practices in React/TypeScript and modern testing frameworks
• Experience with template-based rendering (Thymeleaf) and legacy JavaScript frameworks (jQuery) for maintaining hybrid architectures
