Job Description:

• Learning and growing in a fast-paced payments technology environment where you'll work with cutting-edge Java-based microservices architecture
• Collaborating closely with senior engineers and product teams to build features that directly impact how businesses process payments
• Writing clean, testable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices for both backend and frontend components
• Problem-solving through pair programming sessions and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your learning
• Building end-to-end features that span from React-based user interfaces to Java microservices, giving you full ownership of smaller features
• Continuous improvement by participating in code reviews, retrospectives, and learning from production incidents
• Working in an Agile/XP environment with short feedback cycles, daily standups, and iterative development
• Contributing to quality by writing comprehensive unit and integration tests as part of your daily workflow

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of professional software development experience (internships and academic projects count)
• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
• Solid foundation in Java (Java 11+) or other JVM languages (Kotlin, Scala)
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and design patterns
• Hands-on experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend development
• Familiarity with TypeScript and its type system
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols
• Experience writing unit tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and willingness to embrace XP practices like TDD and pair programming

Nice to have:

• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or other Java frameworks
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Vitest for frontend testing
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization basics
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Exposure to template engines like Thymeleaf or server-side rendering
• Basic knowledge of jQuery and traditional JavaScript frameworks
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, JetBrains AI + IntelliJ etc.)
• Understanding of payment processing concepts (transactions, settlements, refunds)
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of API design principles and OpenAPI/Swagger
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
