Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Global Product Engineering Leader to own the vision, roadmap, and end-to-end engineering execution for one of our financial payment products – Payabhi®. This role will work closely with Regional (US, Canada, Nordic, India) sales, Centralized research, and Innovation teams to anticipate market needs, define forward-looking product roadmaps, and ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet customer and market expectations — Deliver the Right Product, at the Right Time, in the Right Markets.
The product Payabbhi® – is a cloud-native, API-first digital payments platform that unifies acceptance, acquiring, and disbursement across payment channels, enabling businesses to compose their own ecosystem with modular components, seamless integrations, intelligent orchestration, and real-time intelligence. Prospect can use Payabbhi® to stand up a payment gateway service expeditiously.
The role involves leading global engineering teams (primarily based out of IDC, Kolkata), driving architectural excellence, innovation, and building a world class product with a competitive edge along with measurable value for the end customer. The leader will ensure that technology decisions are scalable, secure, and aligned with both current and future market demands.

Strategic Technical Vision
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and unmet needs in the ecosystem.
- Translate market insights into clear, actionable product requirements, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and commercial considerations.
- Define and evangelize the short – mid - long-term product roadmap, technical strategy and architecture for a major product line
- Partner closely with the Product Management leadership/Innovation lab, regional sales & Sales research to shape customer and market driven roadmap, injecting technological possibilities and conducting strategic trade-off analyses.
- Identify and drive the adoption of next-generation technologies and architectural patterns to ensure our platforms remain leaders in performance, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with QA, Security, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless and secure product releases.
- Stays ahead of industry trends and brings external insights into internal strategy.
Technical Execution & Delivery
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for the product line Payabbhi®, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery as per quarter and FY roadmap.
- Instill a culture of engineering excellence, best practices in code quality, testing (unit, integration, security), bug free delivery and DevOps/SRE principles.
- Be ultimately responsible for product innovation, the performance, resilience, and security of mission-critical payment processing systems.
Product Positioning & Marketing
- Define and articulate the product’s value proposition, differentiators, and positioning within each of the markets – US, Canada, Nordic, India and the ones that will be added.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling product messaging, sales collateral, and go-to-market strategies.
- Lead product launches and marketing campaigns, ensuring they resonate with Region’s target audiences and drive market adoption.
Domain Expertise & Compliance
- Provide and guide teams with deep expertise in the Payabbhi® product functionality domain.
- Ensure all products and processes adhere to the highest standards of security, risk management, scalability, Ethical and Responsible AI and compliance.
Product P&L Management and Sales Enablement
- Own the product P&L, including pricing strategy, cost management, revenue forecasting, and overall financial performance.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics, using data-driven insights to optimize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
- Act as the product subject-matter expert for sales teams, providing training, presentations, and high-quality client-facing materials.
- Partner closely with regional sales teams to identify and pursue strategic opportunities across North America, Europe, and other global markets.
- Work closely with Pre-Sales and Regional sales to support the sales cycle through customer discussions, demos, and executive-level client engagements as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- 20+ years of overall experience in Product development and engineering, with at least 10+ years in a leadership role (e.g., Product Engineering Director, Head of Product engineering) managing managers and distributed teams.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
- Proven track record of leading Product engineering for large-scale, transaction-heavy financial payment systems, banking platforms, or fintech products. A deep understanding of payment processing flows (authorization, clearing, settlement) is essential.
- Technical Acumen
- Expert-level knowledge of modern software architecture, microservices, APIs, AI, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with high-availability, low-latency, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Strong familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and compliance frameworks, especially PCI-DSS.
- Leadership & Process:
- Demonstrated ability to build, inspire, and scale world-class engineering teams.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies and a deep understanding of DevOps and CI/CD cultures.
- Excellent strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management skills.
